Wherever she went, Betty went with a smile and a song. If ever someone was feeling down, she would have a joke or a kind word to lift their spirits. If there was a show to be organized or a song to be sung, Betty was there in the thick of it. Her first ever public performance was at age four in the Fremantle Town Hall, where she had the presence of mind to wait until the pianist had played the introduction correctly before starting to sing.

While never having performed professionally, Betty was an accomplished pianist with a beautiful singing voice. Always the consummate entertainer, she gave it everything she had in the name of bringing a smile to someone's face. When it came to giving it all for the show to go on, she was outstanding in her field.
